List my businessDemand for property in Barro Alto comes both from local families and from professionals arriving on work contracts who need a house, flat or room for months. This category brings together estate agencies, brokers and owners who handle rentals and sales.
Precautions when renting
- A written contract, with term, rent, annual adjustment, guarantee (deposit, guarantor or rental insurance) and a move-in inspection with photos.
- Short-term rentals or rentals for teams: agree who pays water, electricity and internet, and the maximum number of occupants.
Precautions when buying
- Ask for an up-to-date property registration certificate (certidão de matrícula) from the Property Registry Office (Cartório de Registro de Imóveis) and check that the seller is the owner.
- Check for outstanding IPTU (municipal property tax) at the City Hall and the property’s legal status (occupancy permit, or habite-se, and regularisation).
- Ask the broker to show their CRECI-GO registration (the state real estate brokers’ council; public lookup on the council’s website).
