List my businessEating in Barro Alto follows the rhythm of a town in inland Goiás: a hearty lunch at midday, often at a self-service buffet or as a “prato feito” (a set plate of the day), with snack bars, pizzerias and “espetinho” (grilled skewer) stands busy in the evening. Shift workers can also find packed meals (marmitas) and meals to order.
What to expect
- Everyday Goiás cooking: rice, beans, beef, chicken, cassava, pequi (a Cerrado fruit) in season and pamonha (fresh corn parcels) in some places. See where to eat in Barro Alto to learn about the regional dishes.
- Opening hours: outside lunch and early evening, there are fewer options. Sundays and public holidays may have reduced hours — check beforehand.
- Payment: most places accept cards and Pix (Brazil’s instant payment system), but it is worth having an alternative in smaller establishments.
For teams and companies
